You may, however, have consulted your GP about how you’re feeling or acting in certain situations. Traditional treatments and pharmaceutical medications are ideal for the great majority of problems people consult their GP about. If I feel unwell, or have a mysterious pain, I contact my NHS GP Practice without delay. In my experience, if the discomfort is physical, a few tablets, a cream or some other medication sorts it and puts it right.

But when someone has a psychological issue e.g., anxiety or panic attacks, medication usually only relieves the symptoms, it does not dull or totally eradicate the psychological cause.

Some of my clients have tried medication and also CBT. They declared the CBT to have been helpful but are certain something more can be achieved. That is when they make an enquiry to me to see if I can help. I often can.

I see all talking therapies as COMPLEMENTARY TO conventional medicine NOT as an ALTERNATIVE treatment.

Talking therapies come into their own when used to treat psychological issues.

If you decide to go ahead with treatment, we arrange future appointments. The consultations will often take place online, however, if local we can meet at the Wellbeing Tree in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.

At the first session, more information about your issue usually comes to light and is noted and added to the information from the initial telephone conversation. I make sure that, during your very first session, you are given an experience of whatever therapy we have agreed upon.

I don’t plan in advance what we will be doing in each session. I prefer to listen to what you have experienced since the previous session and we then agree a way forward based on that. You always retain control during the treatment sessions.
